Vision Freight Systems Add to Growing Fuso Fleet

14-pallet Fuso Shogun 360

Brisbane-based Vision Freight Systems has taken delivery of ten new Fuso commercial vehicles.

The express freight carrier has been steadily building up its fleet of Fuso rigids with new Shoguns, Fighters and Canters being deployed alongside its bigger rigs including Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner Argosy and Western Stars.

Originally the company started out transporting PVC and poly pipe for a building supply contract and eventually diversified into general freight which remains its primary revenue these days.

It runs daily express services from Brisbane, Mackay and Townsville.

The new 14-pallet Fuso Shogun 360 is being used around Brisbane and the Wide Bay-Burnett region.

A 7.7-litre Daimler engine delivers 1400Nm to adequately handle 25 tonne GVM applications.

“It’s a great truck for that task,” said Mark Frankling, Vision Freight Managing Director.

“There’s comfort for the driver and the fuel mileage is great out of them.”

Frankling also noted that he hasn’t had a complaint from one of the ten drivers who have received a new Fuso to drive.

A recently acquired new Mercedes-Benz Actros 2653 is currently running between Townsville and Mackay every day. Two more Actros 2663s are on order at the moment.

Headquarters for Vision Freight Systems is in Salisbury, a southern suburb of Brisbane, where it runs a 4,500m2 warehouse for its local distribution operations.

The business currently has 36 full time staff and approximately 30 trucks in operation.

“We looked to Fuso in 2020 just as the business was gaining a lot of momentum and we’ve progressively bought more. They have given us a great run and the staff is very happy.”
